University of Lodz (LU) is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Poland. The university was founded in 1945. At 12 faculties of the university, degree programs are taught in 90 research areas and 160 specializations. In addition, the university offers a number of doctoral training programs, more than 50 postgraduate professional education programs, including MBA programs.
University of Lodz is a responsible institution of higher education that focuses on intercultural and social integration. At the moment, 95 nationalities are studying here. The university creates an academic community, the basic principles of which are respect for cultural, religious and social values, as well as social responsibility.
In this true international atmosphere, everyone can feel the cultural wealth of the city and the university. You can hear many languages in LU classrooms. Consequently, a diversity of nationalities and generations is being built, supporting the best traditions of the city of Lodz. Foreign students take part in various events organized by the University within the framework of the University Diversity project, the purpose of which is to promote equality and intercultural dialogue in order to build strong and lasting connections based on diversity.
32,000 students (including 2,500 foreign students) are trained by 2,214 teachers. The interest in studying at the University of Lodz is due not only to the high quality of teaching, but also to the modern programs offered by the Polish and English languages and adapted to the changing needs of the labor market. The university regularly offers lectures by renowned professors, politicians, businessmen, and cultural figures. LU has repeatedly been among the best higher education institutions in Poland and is especially successful in such fields of knowledge as law and management. This is one of only a few Polish universities that have won a place in the QS World University Rankings.
The university library is one of the largest and most modern scientific libraries in Poland. The total volume of its fund is 3 million volumes. Campus LU offers accommodation in 10 hostels located in a beautiful green area, close to the city center and most faculty buildings. On the campus there is also a Center for Physical Education and Sports (which is a modern complex with gyms, a swimming pool and gyms), as well as a beauty salon, a medical center, a bank and shops.
University international relations are noticeable in various fields. The university collaborates with more than 250 scientific institutions from around the world. This collaboration gives students the opportunity to spend a semester or year abroad. All students have the opportunity to study exchange in all European countries, as well as in others. In addition to exchanges with grants, we carry out an exchange program between universities around the world (as part of the Mobility Direct program), which allows spending a semester or year abroad for free. LU participates in such programs as Erasmus + (more than 700 direct cooperation agreements), International Credit Mobility, Horizon 2020 Campostela Group, Campus Europae, CEEPUS, Mizuta Scholarship or Erasmus Mundus.
